This year I will be requiring volunteers to attend one of two available training sessions before helping with OBOB Battles. Training will include setting up for battles, running battles, expectations for students, the roles of the Moderator and the Timekeeper/Judge, correct scoring, acceptable battle answers, and tiebreakers. After completing training, each volunteer will be prepared to run battles following state OBOB rules and feel comfortable running battles independently (although you will always work in teams of two).
Training sessions will be held Tuesday, December 4 at 6:30 pm and Monday, December 10 at 6:30 pm. Training will be held in the Springville K-8 cafeteria and will last less than one hour. Volunteer sign ups will be available through MY VOLUNTEER Page..
