Hook’s Revenge

Hook’s Revenge by Heidi Schulz

Our narrator, the old scalawag, summed up the plot very succinctly at the conclusion of this tale of “how young Jocelyn Hook, daughter of the most feared pirate to ever live, managed to face her own fears, survive the Neverland, defeat a monster, and find her lost boy– all without having to brush her hair.” You may be surprised to learn that “Jocelyn’s education at Mis Eliza Crumb-Biddlecomb’s Finishing School for Young Ladies . . . actually [came] in useful” in that endeavor. But then, this tale of lighthearted plunder, murder and revenge is full of surprises. “Think on that next time you are bemoaning your mathematics homework.” Maybe, just maybe, your homework will lead to success in your own marvelous adventures.
