Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by July Blume

Yes, this is the classic and hilarious story of Peter Hatcher, his pet turtle, Dribble, and his little brother Fudge. Yes, Fudge. And yes, it is the book in which there is a character who enjoys banging on pots and pans, in which there is a character whose biggest problem is his or her brother, in which a character claims “I know all about babysitting from my sister,” in which a bowl of cereal is poured over a character’s head, in which just three guests are invited to a birthday party, and in which brown-and-white saddle shoes are wrapped to be taken home.  It’s also the book in which a character eats roses from a bouquet of flowers, in which a character thinks he can fly, in which a character swallows his teeth and in which you will find a school report featuring a flying train.

If you enjoyed Clementine, you’ll enjoy this book.
